Sasha Au Yong

Sasha Au Yong is a MASc student in the Sustainable Polymers Research Lab (SPRL) at Toronto Metropolitan University. Their research focuses on biodegradable and bio-based plastics. Sasha is particularly interested in improving sustainable materials.

Sasha earned her BTech in Graphic Communications Management from Toronto Metropolitan University, where she conducted undergraduate research on mycelium-based biopolymer films for packaging . At SPRL, she contributed to creating graphical abstracts for review papers and collaborates on developing thermoplastic starch films.

Outside the lab, Sasha enjoys doing graphic design projects, thrifting, drawing and jogging.
