Hayden McGreal

Hayden McGreal is a Ph.D. student in the Sustainable Polymers Research Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University. His research focuses on the development of sustainable bio based polymers using abundant natural feedstocks. 

Hayden earned his MASc in Environmental Applied Science and Management from Toronto Metropolitan University, where he investigated the structure–property relationships of fully biobased packaging films. At SPRL, Hayden contributes to projects aimed at replacing petroleum-based materials with circular alternatives through material innovation and industrial collaboration.

Outside the lab, Hayden is passionate about science communication and has mentored student teams in international packaging competitions. He also participates in sustainability outreach programs and serves as a contract lecturer in packaging and printing related courses.
