My Story

Dr. Saba Goharshenasmoghadam was a Postdoctoral Fellow Researcher in the Sustainable Polymers Research Lab (SPRL) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), where she was working on developing multifunctional thermoplastic starch-based materials with improved thermal stability and responsive properties. She joined TMU in 2024 as a visiting researcher during the final stage of her Ph.D., focusing on eutectogels and next-generation polymer electrolytes for energy storage applications. Her broader research interests include advanced functional coatings, surface engineering, and sustainable high-performance polymers for energy and environmental technologies.

Saba earned her Ph.D. in  Engineering, specializing in polymer and coatings, from the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi (UQAC), where she developed anti-icing and anti-frosting coatings integrating ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents (DESs), achieving substantial improvements in performance under extreme conditions. At SPRL, she is involved in collaborative projects on biodegradable polymers, self-healing materials, and fire-retardant coatings, while also mentoring graduate students and contributing to scholarly publications.
