My Story

Forough successfully graduated from our PhD program. Forough was a PhD Candidate in the Sustainable Polymers Research Lab (SPRL) at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her research focused on enhancing gas–liquid mixing in yield-pseudoplastic biopolymer solutions using coaxial mixers to improve process efficiency in pharmaceutical and food applications. She brings expertise in process optimization, bioreactor design, and CFD modeling.

Forough earned her Master’s degree in Process Engineering from University of Tehran, where she developed a strong foundation in fluid dynamics and multiphase systems. At SPRL, she contributes to the design and scale-up of energy-efficient bioreactors that support sustainable manufacturing practices.

Outside the lab, she enjoys scientific outreach, mentoring junior researchers, and exploring the intersection of AI, materials science for pharmaceutical applications, and process sustainability.
